I was challenged by the to need load vast amounts of data in a modular way, coupled with complex transitions and constant animations that threatened to bog-down all but the fastest of CPU's. I acted as a Flash UI Consultant and Developer every step of the way. I created a CGI-driven edit mode and login page to edit various parts of the site through a flash interface. I coded and designed the splash pages. I Actionscripted the entire website in a modular and flexible way. A version 2.0 is rumored to be in the works. This time I won't be limited to flash 5 so sky's the limit. - Apolo"; gGlossary["dockers d-series pants"] = "I worked under a tight deadline with this project. I took the design (photoshop), which was provided to me by silverlign.com in conjunction with Punchpresents and incorporated it into Flash. I set-up all the elements, animated the intro, and scripted all the framework. I then handed the project back to the client where it was finalized and sent off to Levi Strauss & Company. - Apolo"; gGlossary["aci winners circle"] = "This is a 'micro site' I created in alliance with silverlign.com and Punchpresents. I took the design (photoshop), which was provided to me by silverlign.com and incorporated it into Flash, vectorizing and matching all the fonts to insure that the Flash version was an exact replica of the original design. I then Actionscripted all the transitions and linked the URL's and logic used in the movie to an external .as file. By linking the URL's to an external file the webmaster of the site can change the links without touching the Flash authoring environment. - Apolo"; gGlossary["eight inc login page"] = "This is the gateway to the CGI-powered edit mode for the Eight Inc website. Once users log in, they can change various parts of the site through a flash interface. Try to login and see what happens.\n- Apolo"; gGlossary["digiscents: the scent stream"] = "When I was working for DigiScents (a digital scent company), I was fortunate enough to be the world's first Media Scentographer! It was my duty to create scented media (Flash, Shockwave, RealPlayer, Windows media files, HTML, and example files and documentation go along with it) that actually triggered physical scent. The scent was release through a 'black box' that was connected to the computer via an USB interface. This Flash card entitle 'Immerse Yourself' was the first piece of scented Flash media that world had ever seen. The scent code, which used an active X control triggered via getURL and javascript, has been remove so that your browser won't crash. I created this card from scratch, entirely on my own. The graphics were created by vectorizing photographs. - Apolo"; gGlossary["voivod: album promotion"] = "This animation was created to promote the band called Voivod, the guitarist for Voivod is Jason Newsted formally of Metallica. The Design for this animation was provided by manmade.com. - Apolo"; gGlossary["my first intro"] = "I created this animation in Flash 4 for my portfolio. I had never worked in the multimedia industry before and it was probably because of this animation that I landed my first internship with a multimedia company. - Apolo"; gGlossary["american culinary institute"] = "I created this Flash home page in alliance with silverlign.com and Punchpresents. The Design was provided in the form of a Photoshop file by Resolve Digital. I setup all the elements in Flash and Actionscripted all the transitions. I coded this site in HTML making all the tables 'liquid', so that they would stretch to fit any screen resolution. I am currently converting the old 'hard-coded' website into a new and improved dynamic website, powered by CSS, HTML, Flash, PHP and MySQL. Features include a dynamically populated client list, project search engine, dynamic flash content, and an intuitive, and easily configurable navigation system. The design was provided by manmade.com - Apolo"; gGlossary["food facts"] = "This banner was created for The American Culinary Institute. The challenge here was to have an 'auto play' feature that would reverse itself once the animation had played through. At anytime the user would be able to move the items right or left by clicking on the navigation buttons. - Apolo"; gGlossary["chef of the month"] = "This banner was created for The American Culinary Institute. I created this piece of Flash for resolvedigital.com. Usually tweening large bitmaps can produce undesirable effects, but in this case the tweening was seamless. - Apolo"; gGlossary["shad escapes"] = "This was a little Flash piece I made for resolvedigital.com for use on the Shad escapes home page. Notice the subtle color change of the water during the course of the animation. - Apolo"; gGlossary["purdy o'gwynn"] = "I created a fully configurable animation engine for this home page piece. The client wanted random tiles fading over images in random order at configurable speeds. I gave them just that. - Apolo"; gGlossary["resolve digital"] = "This is a actually a third generation banner. It has been revised and re-programmed in a manner as to allow for maximum flexibility. Resolve Digital wanted a way to to link to their portfolio page using a flash animation. They also wanted an unlimited amount of external images loaded at random using Flash 5. I implemented a PHP script that converts .jpg images into .swf files so that they can be loaded with flash 5.\n- Apolo"; gGlossary["sector 404 and bz2 website"] = "This is an animation that shows the users' IP address and logs it into a database. After the animation finishes, up pops a 33.3k friendly, video game community website that I built. Try the member login page. This site was designed for the PC platform and is no longer supported or maintained. - Apolo"; gGlossary["old flash portfolio"] = "This was my portfolio page for awhile, it boasts a spiffy scroller that automatically changes the portfolio items as you scroll. It was too difficult edit, so I decided to make a new portfolio page in HTML; By doing so, I am able to target a larger audience by eliminating the need for the Flash plugin (I do strongly recommend that you get the latest version of the Flash plugin from Macromedia, if don't already have it). - Apolo"; gGlossary["historical timeline"] = "This was a project created for DigiScents and built in Flash 4. This project was never completed, my project manager at the time decided to axe it, in order to free up resources. - Apolo"; gGlossary["burning man slideshow"] = "This was a project created for DigiScents and built in Flash 4. Notice the burning page effect. I produced this effect by outputting a video file into individual files and then making all the black on each image transparent. I then brought all the images back into Flash as transparent .png files and the rest is history. - Apolo"; gGlossary["3d portfolio"] = "I love 3D Studio Max. This is my portfolio of textures, low poly models, and skins created with 3D Studio Max and Photoshop. I worked with Punchpresents to create videos for Hewlett Packard. The videos were a hybrid collection of Flash animation imported into After Effects.
